George William , pseudonym George Freund , (born March 11, 1982 in Massapequa , New York ) is an American musician in the group Save Our Souls , where he works as a singer-songwriter and a former cameraman , director and actor (including All My Children , Tony n´ Tina´s Wedding ). He lived in Chiba Prefecture , Japan for some time before moving back to New York City .

school career

In 2003 George William graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando with a degree in motion film technology, where he focused on screenwriting . In the same year he learned methodical acting from Irma Sandrey at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York. From 2006 to 2008 he learned from Teri Schneider in the T Schreiber Studios. He also learned how to work professionally with the camera under Milton Justice in 2006 . In 2009 he worked with Meisner and DW Brown in Los Angeles . In addition to his mother tongue, William is also proficient in Spanish .

Career

Movie

In 2003 William first worked behind the camera. He was the cameraman and director in the film The Last Days of the Hate Bombs . He was the fourth cameraman alongside Michael LaPointe , Mike Marshall and Patrick Gibson . William works in the film industry under the name George Freund . He also works for Category 5 Films , which produced The Last Days of the Hate Bombs . He also starred in the films Cyberchase , Edison's Horse , Sex and the City , The Day After Tomorrow , Zoot Suit Riot , Hindsight , The Cold , I Got You Babe , Angel and in the famous American television series All My Children . In these films and series, however, he only had supporting and guest roles . He stopped acting to focus on his career as a musician.

music

After George William returned to the United States, he worked as an actor before founding the band Chiba-Ken in 2003 with Elias Tannous and Jason D'Amelio . A year later the band released their first demo. Their first EP followed in 2005 with Faces of the Moment . This was rated positively by several online magazines. After he released another demo with the band in 2006, the band was signed by Gotham Records in 2006. Her debut album Are We Innocent? Followed in October of the same year . , which sold around 7,000 times. The band left the label, however, and recorded their second album in 2009, which was released under the name Hard to Be Human .

At the beginning of 2010 Chiba-Ken broke up and William founded the progressive metal band Save Our Souls with the former Chiba-Ken musicians . In January 2012, after a long restructuring phase of the band, the debut EP Animal was released .

Songwriting

George William writes the songs himself. Most of them deal with social problems , political criticism , love , war and depression . In the band's lyrics you can clearly see the singer's anger and anger towards society. He processes socially critical issues in a dark, satirical way.

William is the founder of Poppa Tony Music . He chose the name because he got the role of Tony in both the series All My Children and Tony n 'Tina's Wedding and was called Poppa Tony by the band members .
