Geretseck is a place in the Hausruckviertel of Upper Austria as well as a locality and cadastral municipality of the municipality of Pöndorf in the Vöcklabruck district .

geography

The place is not far from the Salzburg border about 25 kilometers west of Vöcklabruck and 12 kilometers from Vöcklamarkt , a good 4 kilometers northwest of Kirchham / Pöndorf . It is located at the southern foot of the Kobernaußerwald in the Vöckla-Ager hill country .

The village of Geretseck is around 605 m above sea level. A. Height in the saddle between the ridge of the Kalteis ( 734 m above sea level ) east and the Krenwald (approx. 640 m above sea level ) west. It includes almost 20 buildings with around 400 residents.

The cadastral municipality of Geretseck with 1,281 hectares is much more extensive. In the direction of Vöcklatal, it stretches to the Kirchhamer Bach , which flows south of the village. To the north it extends in Hocheck over the Schwemmbach and Schwarzmoosbach , which come from the Kobernaußerwald, as well as the ridge northeast of Schneegattern (here the border runs directly at the northern end of the village of Höcken and Schneegattern) over the Wienerhöhe ( 755 m above sea level , from here only the Schwarzmoostal side), roughly to where the Kobernaußerwaldstraße begins its ascent to the Steiglberg .

The cadastral area also includes the villages of Schachen below, Preinröth to the north and the majority of Hocheck (only the Schwemmbach – Rabenbach houses on the left side towards the valley ).
