Courts in Saxony from 1879 to 1945
This article deals with the organization of courts in Saxony from the entry into force of the Reich Justice Acts on October 1, 1879 until the cessation of the courts towards the end of the Second World War .
Ordinary jurisdiction
On October 1, 1879, the Judicial Constitution Act of the German Empire came into force in Saxony and was implemented by state law. A law of March 1, 1879 determined the establishment of a higher regional court based in Dresden and regional courts in Dresden , Leipzig , Bautzen , Zwickau , Chemnitz , Freiberg and Plauen . An ordinance of July 28, 1879 determined the districts of the regional courts, ordered the formation of 105 local courts and also determined their seats and districts.

Labor jurisdiction
In accordance with the Labor Court Act of the Reich of 1926, state labor courts in Dresden , Leipzig and Chemnitz and twenty labor courts were established in Saxony on July 1, 1927 . The following table shows these labor courts and their assignment to the state labor courts:

Administrative jurisdiction
The Saxon Higher Administrative Court with its seat in Dresden was established by the law on the administration of administrative justice of July 19, 1900 . The district chiefs were appointed to administrative courts .
Implementation of National Socialist laws
In order to implement the Reichserbhofgesetz (Reichserbhofgesetz) , an inheritance courts were established at the local courts on October 25, 1933 . A hereditary court court was established at the Dresden Higher Regional Court . The Anerbegerichte in Klingenthal and Oberwiesenthal were repealed on January 31, 1934. For the district court district of Klingenthal the court of inheritance in Auerbach was responsible, for Oberwiesenthal that in Annaberg. In 1941 the Rochlitz Inheritance Court was repealed and the Hohenelbe Inheritance Court took its place.
By ordinance of December 29, 1933, hereditary health courts were established at the district courts of Bautzen, Chemnitz, Dresden, Freiberg, Leipzig, Plauen and Zwickau, and a higher hereditary health court at the Dresden Higher Regional Court .
