The Gmina Łapsze Niżne is a rural municipality in the powiat Nowotarski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the village of the same name ( Slovak Nižné Lapše , Hungarian Alsólápos until 1892 Alsó-Laps ; German Unterlapsch ) with about 1400 inhabitants.
history
After the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the municipality became part of the newly created Czechoslovakia in 1918 . After the Czechoslovak-Polish border conflicts , the place was assigned to the Second Polish Republic in 1920. From 1939 to 1945 the place became part of the Slovak state .

The rural community has an area of 124.79 km². Eight villages with nine school boards (sołectwa) belong to it:

- Kacwin (German Katzwinkel , Slovak Kacvín , Hungarian Szentmindszent )
- Łapszanka (German Kleinlapsch , Slovak Lapšanka , Hungarian Kislápos )
- Łapsze Niżne (German Unterlapsch , Slovak Nižné Lapše , Hungarian Alsólápos )
- Łapsze Wyżne (German Oberlapsch , Slovak Vyšné Lapše , Hungarian Felsőlápos )
- Niedzica (divided into the school departments: Niedzica and Niedzica-Zamek ) (German Niest , Slovak Nedeca , Hungarian Nedec )
- Trybsz (German Tripsch , Slovak Tribš , Hungarian Újterebes )
