The Gmina Jeżów Sudecki is a rural municipality in the powiat Jeleniogórski of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . Your seat is the village of the same name ( German Grunau ) with more than 2600 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality borders in the south on the district town of Jelenia Góra (Hirschberg) . In their area rises with the 561 meter high Szybowcowa Góra, the highest mountain of the Little Ridge of the Bober-Katzbach Mountains ( Góry Kaczawskie in Polish ). It is a foothill of the Sudeten and the Giant Mountains to the north. The most important body of water is the Bober (Bóbr, Czech Bobr ), which is dammed in the north-west of the municipality in the Bobertalsperre .
The rural community Jeżów Sudecki has an area of 94.28 km².
history
From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Jelenia Góra Voivodeship . The upper part of the municipality's coat of arms shows a glider over a hilltop.
Partnerships
The rural community maintains community partnerships with four churches in Upper Lausitz (Germany) and Paseky nad Jizerou in the Czech Republic.

economy
The community's population is growing rapidly, due to its location at the gates of the district town. Today the places live mainly from tourism. This also includes winter sports.
The Jeżów Sudecki glider airfield is located on Szybowcowa Góra and became world famous around 1930 thanks to the Grunau gliding school and the Grunau Baby .
