The Gmina Wojnicz is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Tarnowski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 3350 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located 60 km east of Kraków and ten km southwest of Tarnów . It has an area of 78.5 km². 64 percent of the municipal area is used for agriculture and 24 percent for forestry.
The state road DK 94 and the voivodship road DW 975 run through the city .
history
From 1975 to 1998 the village of Wojnicz was part of the Tarnów Voivodeship . On January 1, 2007, it was given city rights again .
structure
In addition to the city that gives it its name, the town-and-country municipality includes 14 villages with school authorities (sołectwa) : Biadoliny Radłowskie, Dębina Łętowska, Dębina Zakrzowska, Grabno, Isep, Łopoń, Łukanowice, Milkówka, Olszyny , Wielka , Sukmanieś Więckowice and Zakrzów.
