The Gmina Ciężkowice is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Tarnowski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 2400 inhabitants. The municipality has an area of 103.22 km², on which about 11,200 inhabitants live.
history
From 1975 to 1998 the rural municipality was assigned to the Tarnów Voivodeship . On January 1, 1998, Ciężkowice was revoked its town charter, which had been revoked in 1934 , and the municipality got its current status.

The city is located on Voivodship Street 977 (DW 977). This leads from Tarnów, 30 kilometers away, to state road 75 (DK 75) in the south.
The international airport in Kraków-Balice is about 80 kilometers to the west. The smaller Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport is located about 75 kilometers to the northeast.
