Gotpold (Prague)
Gotpold (also: Gotthard ; Gottbold ; Gothart ; Hotart ; † March 10, 1169 ) was elected bishop of Prague .
Gotpold was a relative of the Bohemian Queen Judith . He came from Thuringia and was canon of the Strahov Premonstratensian Monastery . Without success he was recommended by Judith to the Premonstratensian monastery Seelau as abbot .
After the death of the Prague bishop Daniel I , Gotpold was elected as his successor with the support of Judith. However, he died on March 10, 1169, before his episcopal ordination .
