Johann I (Prague)
Johann I (Czech: Jan I ; † August 8, 1139 ) was Bishop of Prague .
Johann was provost of the Vyšehrad collegiate monastery . After the death of Bishop Meinhard from Prague , he was appointed his successor on September 29, 1134. After the imperial investiture by Emperor Lothar III. In Heidelberg he received the episcopal ordination on April 19, 1135 in Mainz by the Metropolitan Adalbert I.
Johann supported the expansion of the Premonstratensian order , which he had got to know through the Olomouc bishop Heinrich Zdik .
