The Gotthilf Hagen is a former pilot station ship that was stationed in the Weser estuary. She is one of six ships of the same type of the Commodore Rolin class that were stationed in the mouths of the Elbe , Weser / Jade and Ems waters .

General

Was built in the Gotthilf Hagen in 1959 under the hull number 496 on the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg . The keel of the ship was laid on February 16, the launch on May 14, 1959. The ship was completed in September 1959.

The ship was owned by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS), and it was operated by the Lotsbetriebsverein eV branch in Bremerhaven . The ship has been used as a pilot station ship since 1959. In summer 2010 the ship was decommissioned and replaced by the SWATH pilot station ship Weser .

The ship is named after the hydraulic engineer Gotthilf Hagen , who on behalf of the Prussian Admiralty managed the construction of the port of the future city of Wilhelmshaven .

Technical specifications

The ship is powered by diesel-electric technology . The two electric traction motors come from the AEG AG shipbuilding department. They each have an output of 456  kW . Three Maybach diesel generators, each with an output of 330 kW, provide power to the traction motors and the on-board network.

On board the ship there were beds in 25 cabins for a total of 70 people, up to 28 crew members and up to 42 pilots .

Whereabouts of the ship

The Gotthilf Hagen was last in Emden launched and was the end of 2011 for 145,000 euros over the VEBEG GmbH sold in the Netherlands, where the ship on the Veka-yard is being converted into Wakendam to a private yacht the shipyard owner. The ship will also be equipped with transverse thruster systems in the bow and stern.
