Goudi Olympic Complex

The Goudi Olympic Complex is a sports center built for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens .

The facility was completed on March 31, 2004 and officially opened on July 31, 2004. The total area of ​​the sports facility is 231,700 m². The complex is located in the eastern city center of Athens (28.5 km from the Olympic Village) and consists of two different facilities:

  • The badminton competitions as well as the shooting and fencing competitions of the modern pentathlon took place in the Goudi Olympic Hall . The audience capacity is 4,100 (badminton) or 3,000 (modern pentathlon).
  • The three remaining modern pentathlon competitions, i.e. swimming, show jumping and cross-country skiing, took place in the Olympic Modern Pentathlon Center . The spectator capacity is 2,500 for swimming and 5,000 for riding and running.

Use after the Olympics

After the Olympic Games, the Badminton Theater moved into the area.
