history

The place was created in the 14th century at the latest. The place was first mentioned in documents in 1377.

The place was mentioned in 1784 in the book Beytrage for the description of Silesia as Ratsch , belonged to the Teutonic Order and was in the Leobschütz district. At that time it had 134 residents who were German, a farm , eleven gardeners and twelve cottagers . With the secularization in Prussia in 1810, the Teutonic Order lost the place as its property and it went through the royal domain treasury. In 1865 Raatsch consisted of a manor and a community. At that time, the place had ten gardener jobs and 15 cottager jobs, as well as a mill. The school was in Thröm .

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 108 voters locally voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and one for membership in Poland. On the estate, 38 voted for Germany and none for Poland. Ratsch remained with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Ratibor .

In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Gródczanki in Poland . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship, 1975 to the Katowice Voivodeship and in 1999 to the re-established Powiat Raciborski and the Silesian Voivodeship.
