Grünbach Castle

Grünbach is part of the municipality of Bockhorn in the Erding district in Upper Bavaria . The place is three kilometers northeast of Bockhorn.

history

middle Ages

The name Grünbach has been documented since 816, when the monk Liutto donated his property in "Croninpach" to the Hochstift Freising . Around 1076 the presumably Edelfrei Porn von Grünbach appears as a witness . Bernhard von Grünbach (1197/99) was the first to hold a title of count. Around 1200 the construction of Grünbach Castle began in Grünbach .

18th and 19th centuries

In 1718 Grünbach married the Counts of Seinsheim. In 1787 they brought in the Bavarian brewing pioneer Benno Scharl , who built a modern brewery. In 1801, the construction of the still existing Grünbach Castle began in Grünbach . 1818 was awarded the Gemeindeedikt the Patrimonialgemeinde Gruenbach founded. Former coat of arms

The silver horn on red was the coat of arms of the noble family Krafft von Grünbach, which was adopted as the coat of arms by the community at that time. The coat of arms was used from 1950 until it was incorporated in 1972; to a large extent, the Bockhorn coat of arms is derived from it.
