The Great Tullnerfelder Rundwanderweg is a hiking trail in Austria. It runs entirely in the federal state of Lower Austria and leads through the agricultural plains of the Tullnerfeld , the Wagram , which is characterized by viticulture , the northern Vienna Woods and the eastern Wachau .

The path is around 200 kilometers long and has no alpine difficulties. Approximately eight to ten days are to be estimated for its complete migration.

Route

In the accompanying hiking guide of the Austrian Alpine Association , the path is divided into 24 stages, which are not to be understood as daily stages, but are given by the individual refreshment stops and overnight stays and can be combined depending on personal fitness and preference.

South of the Danube

The circular hiking trail starts at the train station in Tulln and initially runs in an easterly direction to Greifenstein in the municipality of St. Andrä-Wierter . There the path turns to the southwest, reaching its highest point at the Leopold-Figl-Warte on the Tulbinger Kogel. Mautern an der Donau is finally reached via Ried am Riederberg and Sieghartskirchen .

In detail, the route runs as follows: Tulln an der Donau - Langenlebarn - Muckendorf - Zeiselmauer - St. Andrä-WIERT - Greifenstein - Hadersfeld - Lourdes grotto in the Vienna Woods - Hagenbachklamm - Unterkirchbach - Hainbuch - Leopold-Figl-Warte at the Tulbinger Kogel - Hirschengarten - Ried am Riederberg - Weinzierl - Auberg - Sieghartskirchen - Henzing - Judenau - Pixendorf - Rust im Tullnerfeld - Atzenbrugg - Heiligenreich - Waldandacht - Sitzenberg - Traismauer - Wagram ob der Traisen - Krustetten - Tiefenfucha - Furth - Mautern an der Donau.

North of the Danube

From Stein an der Donau via the Donauwarte - now back to the east - you hike to Krems . Via Kirchberg am Wagram , Absdorf and Hausleiten you get to Stockerau , from where the path leads back to Tulln. This part of the route has only slight differences in altitude.

The exact route in this section is: Stein an der Donau - Donauwarte - Egelsee - Krems an der Donau - Altweiding - Haitzendorf - Grafenegg - Wagram am Wagram - Fels am Wagram - Türntal - Engelmannsbrunn - Kirchberg am Wagram - Unterstockstall - Königsbrunn am Wagram - Absdorf - Stetteldorf am Wagram - Eggendorf am Wagram - Gaisruck - Hausleiten - Goldiegen - Stockerau - In der Au - Unterzögersdorf - Oberzögersdorf - Schmida - Zaina (municipality of Hausleiten) - Perzendorf - Tulln an der Donau.

North of the Danube the path is marked with path number 675, south of it with 475. The colored markers are red-white-red.

The course of the Great Tullnerfelder Rundwanderweg was originally determined by the EVG -Wanderclub Tulln , after its dissolution the trail markings were handed over to the long-distance hikers section of the Austrian Alpine Club in 1999 . After completing the entire route, a badge can be obtained there upon presentation of the control stamp.
