Muckendorf-Wipfing is a municipality with 1663 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Tulln district in Lower Austria .
geography

Muckendorf-Wipfing is located in the eastern Tullnerfeld on the south bank of the Danube in Lower Austria in the main region "Lower Austria Central". The area of the municipality covers 6.27 km², of which 18.76% is forested.
Community structure
The municipality includes the following two localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):
- Muckendorf an der Donau (1198) including special building area bathing huts and electricity settlement
- Wipfing (465) including the river settlement
The community consists of the cadastral communities Muckendorf and Wipfing.
history
The community of Muckendorf and Wipfing were merged with Zeiselmauer and Wolfpassing to form one large community in 1972 . Since January 1st, 1998, the two places have been independent again as the municipality of Muckendorf-Wipfing.
Population development
According to the results of the 2001 census , there were 980 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 886 inhabitants, in 1981 719 and in 1971 699 inhabitants.

The municipal council has 19 members.
- With the municipal council elections in Lower Austria in 1990, the municipal council had the following distribution: 8 ÖVP, 6 SPÖ and 1 other. (15 members)
- With the municipal elections in Lower Austria in 1995, the municipal council had the following distribution: 11 WMW-Wahlgemeinschaft Muckendorf-Wipfing (ÖVP) and 4 SPÖ.
- With the municipal elections in Lower Austria in 2000, the municipal council had the following distribution: 12 WMW-Wahlgemeinschaft Muckendorf-Wipfing (ÖVP), 2 SPÖ and 1 FPÖ.
- With the municipal elections in Lower Austria in 2005 , the municipal council had the following distribution: 10 WMW-Wahlgemeinschaft Muckendorf-Wipfing (ÖVP) and 5 SPÖ.
- With the municipal elections in Lower Austria in 2010 , the municipal council had the following distribution: 12 WMW-Wahlgemeinschaft Muckendorf-Wipfing (ÖVP) and 3 SPÖ. (15 members)

Culture and sights
- Weinwartshof : The Weinwartshof, located on the eastern edge of Muckendorf in the middle of an extensive park, goes back to the fief of the farm in "Weinwerd", which the Knights Matseber owned from 1390 to 1501 and which was expanded into a permanent house around 1421. At the beginning of the 19th century, the castle, of which only the eastern part has survived, was twice as large as it is today.
economy
In 2001 there were 18 non-agricultural workplaces, agricultural and forestry operations 15 according to the 1999 survey. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment at the place of residence was 453. The 2001 participation rate was 47.04%.
traffic
- Train: Franz-Josefs-Bahn . In the “Muckendorf-Wipfing” stop, the trains of the S40 rapid transit line run every half hour in the direction of Vienna Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof and Tulln an der Donau and on to St. Pölten Hauptbahnhof . The bus lines stopping in the village operate on similar routes.
- Road: The federal road B14 runs through Muckendorf .
