The G15 (short for Group of Fifteen ) was founded on September 4, 1989 in Belgrade ( Yugoslavia ) on the occasion of the ninth Conference of the Non-Aligned States . It should serve the cooperation of these developing countries and give them a common voice at international summits, especially those of the World Trade Organization . The Group of Fifteen consists of countries from North America , South America , Africa and Asia , all of which share the goal of improved growth and prosperity . The working principles relate to cooperation between countries in the fields of investment, trade and technology. In June 2011 there were 17 members without the organization's name changing.
