Like her teacher Voll, Freydorf-Stephanow first worked with wood, later she almost exclusively used clay, bronze and stone. Her portrait of a girl , a bust of Hermes made of white marble facing the front, resembles the works of Voll, which he created in the early thirties. They also have the same closed eyes in common. After several unsuccessful attempts, her portrait of a girl was presented in 1942 at the Great German Art Exhibition in Munich .

In the late thirties and forties she also created portrait busts and reliefs that resembled those of Adolf von Hildebrand . Furthermore, she created many small sculptural figures, some of which were cast in bronze. What is particularly striking is one figure that the artist herself called Sculptura . It is a sketch modeled seated nude figure, with the chisel and Knüpfel is equipped; it can therefore be understood as the personification of sculpture .

After Prince Friedrich Wilhelm zu Wied wanted to erect a monument to his famous ancestor Maximilian zu Wied-Neuwied in front of Neuwied Castle and then announced a competition, Guta von Freydorf-Stephanow applied and won. She designed the figures in a mechanical engineering factory in Leutesdorf , which were made of styrofoam and plaster bandages. The figures were then cast in bronze under the supervision of the artist. In June 1987 the prince handed the figures over to the city of Neuwied.

There is also a work by Freydorf-Stephanow in Andernach : After the city launched a competition for figures that correspond to the baker boy legend , it convinced the jury and created two life-size baker boys that can be seen on the market square in Andernach. She also designed the bronze statues intended to depict the parable of the Good Samaritan in front of the Good Samaritan Hospital in Montabaur .

Furthermore, the symbolic figure of the wine village Leutesdorf, "Johann the Grape Bearer", was made from bronze according to your designs. In addition, she created the symbolic figure of the bachelorhood in 1468 Waldshut . The stone bachelor has been standing in front of the Lower Gate since 1998 .

She also made drawings, designed tombs and created a memorial for the unknown soldier in Leutesdorf .

The German painter and installation artist Ursula Goldau was one of Freydorf-Stephanow's students .
