Guy Nulens (born October 27, 1957 in Hasselt , Limburg Province ) is a former professional Belgian cyclist . He was a professional from 1979 to 1995.

Career

Nulens began his professional career at DAF Trucks and during this time he won a stage each in the Tour de Suisse and the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré . After moving to Peter Post's Panasonic-Raleigh , he won another stage in the Tour de Suisse and a stage in the Tour de France in 1990 . From 1993 to 1994 he drove for Novemail-Histor-Laser Computer and switched to Collstrop-Lystex in 1995. Here he ended his career at the end of the season.

Between 1980 and 1994, Nulens competed 15 times in the Tour de France , a total of 19 Grand Tours . During his playing days, the Belgian was known as strong domestics , i.e. as a noble helper to his respective captain, and drove for some of the strongest teams of his era. He allegedly said of himself, "I am and will remain a driver in the service of . I was never a real winner. I am a very good driver. I am so humble I can say that. I have driven many races at who I had to be in the lead every day, for kilometers ... because that's what I'm part of the team: driving ahead. "
