The Brandenburg-Bayreuth Monastery Office Münchsteinach held the village and community rulership and the lordship over the four quarter courtyards .

As part of the community edict, Höfen was assigned to the Münchsteinach tax district, formed in 1811, and from 1813 it belonged to the Münchsteinach rural community . With the second community edict (1818) it was re-grouped into the newly formed rural community Mönchsberg . On July 1, 1971, Münchsteinach was incorporated into Baudenbach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
