The place was first mentioned in the year 1303/17 in the fief book of the Hochstift Würzburg as "Frankenfeld". The place name is derived from the field name of the same name. Under Charlemagne, Franks specifically referred to the officials and royal farmers who were then based in the Königsmark Laimbach. Later a small heap road village was built in the fields. 1303/17 the knight Friedrich bolster was from high pin of the Tenth applied in Frankenfeld. In the fief book it is recorded that Gerlach von Hohenlohe (14th century) Heinz Markolf and later Betzolt Schwarzenberger and his sisters received the tithe from "Frankenfelt". There were also goods that were subordinate to Rüdiger von Sugenheim. In addition to the von Hohenlohe, the Counts of Castell also owned Frankenfeld. In addition, interest goods and subjects of the monasteries Birkenfeld and Münchsteinach as well as a subject of the manor Obersteinbach are proven. The sovereigns were the princes of Schwarzenberg , on whose territory the place was located.

In 1810 Frankenfeld became part of the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Frankenfeld was assigned to the Baudenbach tax district in 1811 . In 1813 it was incorporated into the rural community of Baudenbach. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community of Frankenfeld was formed. It was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch in administration and jurisdiction and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch (renamed in 1920 to Finanzamt Neustadt an der Aisch ). One property was subject to the Schwarzenberg High Court , one property was subject to the Obersteinbach Patrimonial Court until 1848 , and one property was subject to the Stübach Patrimonial Court until 1848 . From 1862 Frankenfeld was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office (renamed the Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Neustadt an der Aisch until 1879, from 1880 district court Neustadt an der Aisch . The municipality had an area of 2,850 km².

On July 1, 1969, before the regional reform in Bavaria , Frankenfeld was incorporated into Baudenbach.
