history
In the district Horabach have artifacts on a settlement in the Bronze Age through. On the Schloßberg there was a section castle - called Hornburg - that was built in the early Middle Ages. A Heinrich von Hornburg is mentioned in a document that must have been drawn up between 1255 and 1275. The Hornburg was still in the Middle Ages.
The place name Horabach is derived from a water body of the same name, the defining word of which is "hor" ( mhd. Swamp). In the late Middle Ages there were three landlords in Horabach . The Rothenburg Dominikanerinnen received in 1255 from the Reichsküchenmeister Lupold of Nordenberg a portion which also included property in Horabach. In 1331 there were four estates. Furthermore, the Rothenburg hospital was wealthy. In 1320 they bought from knight Konrad von Tanne u. a. a property with a fish pond in Horabach. The Rothenburger Johanniter owned an estate which they bought from Dietrich von Hornburg in 1302 for 27 1 ⁄ 2 pounds Heller.
In 1449 Margrave Albrecht Achilles waged war against the imperial city of Rothenburg and burned a. a. Horabach down. The reconstruction took place from 1450 to 1452.
In 1800 there were eight households in the place, all of which were subject to the imperial city of Rothenburg .
With the community edict (early 19th century), the place was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Neusitz.
