Hüseyin Yazıcı (* 1939 in Istanbul ; † 1989 ) was a Turkish football player . Due to his long activities for Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Göztepe Izmir , he is associated with this club. During the presidency of Fikret Arıcan from 1985 to 1987 he was a functionary of Fenerbahçes and was also on the board of the association (Turkish: Yüksek Divan Kurulu). In the former, he was involved in some important successes in the club's history. In the latter, he stands with players like Fevzi Zemzem , Nevzat Güzelırmak , Gürsel Aksel and Ali Artuner for the glorious time of Göztepes in which this club was one of the first Anatolian teams to compete with the three big Istanbul clubs Galatasaray , Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş .

Career

society

The beginnings of Yazıcı's football career are not fully documented. According to some sources, he was in the squad of Fenerbahçe Istanbul from 1957 . From the spring of 1959 he was included in the squad of the professional team. At the time of his inclusion in Fenerbahçe, this club played in the İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi (German: Istanbul Professional League ). At that time there was no international professional league in Turkey. Instead, regional leagues existed in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which the Istanbul professional league was considered the most prestigious. In this league, the two other big Istanbul clubs Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş played together with Fenerbahçe . In this environment Yazıcı gave on January 28, 1959 in the league game against Karagümrük SK his professional debut.

His club ended the season as the Istanbul championship and thus secured the last championship of this Istanbul professional league. From the spring of 1959, Yazıcı then took part with Fenerbahçe in the newly founded and nationwide Millî Lig (today's Süper Lig ). This league was founded in the spring of 1959 as the first nationwide national league in Turkey and replaced the regional leagues in the larger metropolitan areas, such as B. the İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi, as the highest and only Turkish league. The first season of the Millî Lig was played from February 1959 to June 1959 and ended with a win for Fenerbahçe Istanbul . Yazıcı completed only one league encounter and became the first Turkish football champion with his team . In the second season the title defense of the championship failed. Instead, the team won the Cemal Gürsel Cup . Yazıcı finished this season with seven competitive stakes and increased his stakes significantly compared to the previous seasons. In the third season he only played three league games, he was again Turkish champion with his team. With the season 1961/62 he conquered a regular place and kept this for the next five seasons. His seasons 1961/62 and 1962/63 remained without a title win. In the season 1963/64 his team managed to win the Turkish championship for the third time. Yazıcı was able to win the Turkish championship with his team in the 1964/65 season . As a result, his team managed to defend its title in the championship, the first in the club's history. After the new title defense in the championship was missed in the 1965/66 season , the club management decided to carry out a squad revision.

As a result of a squad revision, Yazıcı moved in the summer of 1966 for a transfer fee of 32,500 Turkish Lira from Fenerbahçe to league rivals Göztepe Izmir . At his new club he quickly established himself as a regular player and was used in his first season, the season 1966/67 , in 25 of 32 over the full game length. This repeated the best first division placement in the club's history, which had only been valid for two years. In addition, the final in the Turkish Football Cup was reached for the first time in the club's history . Here the team failed against arch rivals Altay Izmir . Yazıcı played a major role in these successes and was nominated for the Turkish national team due to his convincing performance . In the 1967/68 season, Yazıcı made international attention with Göztepe with a success never before achieved in the club's history. In addition to the fourth place in the table in the national league, the club reached the third round in the trade fair cup , the unofficial predecessor of the UEFA Cup . In the first round, Göztepe surprisingly prevailed against the preferred Belgian representative Royal Antwerp and in the second round even against the Spanish top club Atlético Madrid . In the 3rd round the tournament came out against the Yugoslav representative Vojvodina Novi Sad . In the 1968/69 season, the successes of the previous seasons were partially exceeded. For the first time in the club's history, they won the Turkish Football Cup . Yazıcıs team prevailed against Galatasaray Istanbul in the final . In the trade fair cup, Olympique Marseille , FC Argeş Piteşti , OFK Belgrade and Hamburger SV were eliminated in succession and thus reached the semi-finals. Hamburger SV withdrew from the competition and made it possible for Göztepes to reach the semi-finals. In the semifinals, the club was then defeated by the Hungarian representative Újpesti Dózsa SC . To date, this success was the greatest that a Turkish team could achieve in the European cup competitions. The league ended this time in 7th place in the table, but the team qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup by winning the cup for the coming season . Yazıcı played injury and punishment-related games in this season, excluding almost all possible competitive games of his team and was thus one of the players who completed the most stakes for Göztepe this season.

In the 1969/70 season he successfully defended the Turkish Football Cup and thus achieved the second success in this competition. Thanks to this success, after Galatasaray they became the second club to defend their title in the national cup competition. In the European Cup Winners' Cup, the team made it to the quarter-finals and was eliminated from the Italian club AS Roma . In the summer of 1970, the team won the President's Cup with a 3-1 win over Fenerbahçe Istanbul as the first non-Istanbul team . While Yazıcı was used almost continuously in the last few seasons, he completed only 13 league games this season. In the 1970/71 season he was eliminated with his team in the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 2nd round against the Polish representative Górnik Zabrze , but the league was finished in 3rd place in the table and thus set a new club record. Also in this season Yazıcı was no longer set as a regular player and completed 16 league games. The following years Yazıcı lost with Göztepe the connection to the top clubs of the highest Turkish league. Yazıcı, who was used in only four league games in the 1971/72 season , left Göztepe in the summer of 1972 after six years of service. After leaving Göztepe, he was unable to come to an agreement with any club until the end of the transfer period.

National team

On June 18, 1967 Yazıcı was the national coach Adnan Süvari , who at that time even in Göztepe Izmir , was Yazıcıs head coach as part of a qualifying match of the European Championship in 1968 against the Czechoslovak national team for the first time for the levy of the Turkish national team nominated and completed in this encounter his first international match. By December 1968, he completed two more A-internationals for his country.

In 1967 he took part in the ECO-Cup with the national team and won the tournament with his team.
