The Hahnwiesenbach , known in the upper reaches under the section name Mörsbach , is a tributary of the Apfelbach in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district and in the north of Darmstadt .

The Hahn Wiesbachhorn arises as Mörsbach the forest in the northeast of Messel by the confluence of several small streams and the zinc pond -Ablaufs. The brook flows in a westerly direction and is partially underground in the Messel area. Then he crosses the Mörsbacher Grund nature reserve . Then, while still in Mörsbacher Grund, the name of the water changes to Hahnwiesenbach . Between Egelsbach and Darmstadt-Wixhausen it crosses under the federal highway 3 , a good 1000 meters further between Erzhausen and Wixhausen the Main-Neckar railway line and shortly before the confluence southwest of Erzhausen the federal highway 5 . The Hahnwiesenbach flows north of the Steinrodsee from the right and east into the Apfelbach .
Catchment area
The 14.14 km² catchment area of the Eisbach lies in the Messel hill country and the Lower Main Plain . It is drained via the Apfelbach, the Hegbach , the Schwarzbach , the Ginsheimer Altrhein and the Rhine to the North Sea.
It borders
- in the east to that of the Gersprenz , which flows into the Main
- in the south to that of the Mühlbach , a tributary of the Schwarzbach
- in the northwest to that of the stream of Erzhausen , a tributary of the Hegbach
- and in the north to that of the Hegbach itself.
The highest point is the Messeler Höhe at 195 m above sea level. NHN in the northeast of the catchment area.

The Hahnwiesenbach is fed by several small streams and drainage ditches such as the Wildgraben .
Fish pond
On the southern edge of Erzhausen, in the Sensfelder Hardt forest , there is a fish pond ( 49 ° 56 ′ 40.4 ″ N , 8 ° 37 ′ 37.4 ″ E ), which is connected to the Hahnwiesenbach by an overflow . The pond is approx. 45 m long and approx. 25 m wide.
