The Haidensee is a dead lake on a glacial gravel terrace in the upper Glan Valley in the municipality of Glanegg . It is located in a protected landscape area, surrounded by forest, but is made accessible by a guesthouse on the bank. It used to be a popular bathing place in the area. The lake is eutrophic . An occurrence of crayfish is documented. The Rudolfsbahn has a stop at Tauchendorf-Haidensee in the Glantal . Water temperatures of up to 28 ° are observed and the water is considered healing. There is an orienteering map of the area . The lake is now owned by the Götzhaber family in the second generation. The lake has not been open to the public since 2010. A living space for elderly people in need of care was created in the former inn.
