The Aichwaldsee is a small lake in the municipality of Finkenstein . It is a boggy lake, the water quality of which is shown to be very good despite the resulting turbidity .
The lake is surrounded by a 24-hectare conservation area (LGBl. No. 41/1970). There is a public bathing beach on the southern shore of the lake and in winter the lake is used for ice skating by the Wörthersee ice skating club .
Animals in the Aichwaldsee

- Rudd ( Scardinius erythrophthalmus )
- Tench ( Tinca tinca )
- Catfish ( Silurus glanis )
- Zander ( Sander lucioperca )
The main fish in the lake is the bream, followed by roach and rudd and pike. Due to a mass extinction in 1992, there is only a small population of noble crayfish ( Astacus astacus ).
