The Maltschacher See is a small Austrian swimming lake about three kilometers southeast of Feldkirchen in Carinthia .
There is a low moor to the west of the lake . The Strußnigteich is fed by the runoff of the Maltschacher See .
The lake was originally characterized by a thick belt of macrophytes and reeds . The Amur carp used in 1975 destroyed both macrophyte populations and the reed belts. However, no Amur carp have been detected since 1991.
A lido in the town of Feldkirchen and a holiday resort run by Sotour Austria are located on Lake Maltschacher See .
