Handball GDR Oberliga (women) 1966/67

In indoor handball for women, the GDR champions for the 1966/67 season were determined as part of the handball GDR Oberliga (women) . The women's field handball league previously held was discontinued by a decision of the GDR handball association .

Season course

The league started its point games in October 1966 with ten teams, in March 1967 the last matches were played. The defending champions were the women of SC Empor Rostock , while the company sports associations (BSG) Post Magdeburg and Lokomotive Dresden entered the league as newcomers . The Rostock women confidently defended their title by winning all 18 games. As the bottom of the table, Lok Dresden did not manage to stay in the league and was relegated together with the penultimate Dynamo Karl-Marx-Stadt .
