Hans-Christian Petersen (born September 16, 1947 in Elmshorn ) is a German painter , graphic artist and object artist.

Life

Hans-Christian Petersen grew up in Elmshorn. In 1965 he completed his training as a retail salesman and began private studies with his father, the artist Wilhelm Petersen .

In 1968 Hans-Christian Petersen exhibited his own work for the first time. In 1970 he began studying art and art history at the University of Florence for foreigners . In 1971 exhibitions followed in Elmshorn and Esens , East Frisia . From 1974 Hans-Christian Petersen worked as a freelance painter, graphic artist and gallery owner in Esens. Since 1985 he has been working in his own gallery and studio in Esens. The focus of his work is landscape painting ; He also works on experimental projects, including the series “Cosmic” and “Treasure Islands”, and as a graphic artist / illustrator . As a sculptor , he has implemented several joint projects with his brother Anders Petersen . Hans-Christian Petersen is a founding member of the "Ostfriesischer Kunstkreis" and a member of VG Bild . He is married and lives in Esens.
