Hans Bollinger (born October 26, 1949 in Wörschweiler ) is a German educator and musician .

Life

Hans Bollinger was born the younger son of the administrative officer Walter Bollinger and his wife Erika. He spent his childhood and youth in his birthplace Wörschweiler, where he attended the Protestant elementary school from 1956 to 1960. In 1960 he moved to the Zweibrücker Helmholtz-Gymnasium , where he passed his Abitur in 1969. In the same year, Bollinger began studying at what was then the University of Education in Saarbrücken . In 1972 he passed his exams for teaching at elementary and secondary schools in the subjects of music and Protestant religion . Hans Bollinger lives in the " Bliesgau UNESCO Biosphere Reserve " in Gersheim. He is married and has two grown sons.

Hans Bollinger began his professional career at the comprehensive school in Dillingen / Saar , where he taught until 1982. He then moved to the secondary school Am Ludwigspark in Saarbrücken, where he worked until 1983. In the same year Bollinger was transferred to the secondary school in Gersheim, which was converted into a comprehensive school in 1986. At this school he was appointed principal in 1999 and remained so for another nine years. In 2008, Bollinger moved to the position of head of Spohns Haus , an ecological education center with a school camp in Gersheim.

Hans Bollinger is married to the Polish social affairs officer Krystyna Bollinger geb. Zawisza. The marriage resulted in two sons.

Partnership with Poland

A special focus of his activities in Spohn's house is Bollinger's partnership exchange with Poland . An official partnership that was concluded in 2009 between the Saarland and the eastern Polish region “ Podkarpackie ” (Subcarpathian region) comes into play . In particular, Bollinger promotes the exchange between young people from both countries. In this context, he started a number of individual projects that are carried out in Spohn's house every year. Almost all individual projects are organized in cooperation with the German-Polish Youth Office (DPJW):

- German-Polish Pedagogical Conference
- International Europe Week (with participants from five European nations)
- German-Polish youth camps (14 days each in the summer months)
- German-Polish Ecumenical Meeting Week

European orientation

As with the exchange with Poland, Bollinger works to promote and spread the European idea. Together with other European-oriented collaborators (Maison Robert Schuman ( Metz ), European Academy Otzenhausen , Asko Europa-Stiftung, etc. ), he carries out measures to integrate and promote European awareness among young people. The core of these offers are leisure workshops for European young people with eco-pedagogical support (focus: Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)).
Bollinger is particularly committed to the “ Encounters on the Border ” project that he and his colleague Gaby Schwartz launched . As part of this project, cultural events of all genres are offered in the European Cultural Park Reinheim from May to November each year . The events have European references and are designed to unite people.

The band Espe

Hans Bollinger was co-founder and head of the music group Espe , which had national and international appearances from 1976 to 1993 and published numerous records and CDs. Espe interpreted traditional Yiddish songs and created new songs in the Yiddish language. Bollinger was the singer and guitarist in the group. The other members were his sister-in-law Gabi Heleen Bollinger, Walter Krennrich (deceased 2012) and Thomas Doll. Among others, the Saarland writer Ludwig Harig wrote song lyrics for the group. Espe gained international attention with her revue "Jankele", in which the life of the Eastern Jews over the past hundred years was traced.
After Espe broke up , Bollinger appeared as a singer-songwriter solo and in changing line-ups, including with the songwriters Hein & Oss Kröher, with whom he was a close friend.
