Hans Cramer (SA member)

Hans Friedrich Eberhard Walter Cramer , (born September 23, 1904 in Heilbronn ; † April 15, 1945 in Grunow near Frankfurt an der Oder ) was a German SA leader, mayor and National Socialist who served as regional commissioner in the Kaunas district during the Second World War - City of the general district of Lithuania of the Reichskommissariat Ostland was used.

Life

Hans Cramer was the son of the Heilbronn teacher and family researcher Max Cramer and his wife, Antonie, née Zeller. From 1930 he was married to Marie (1903-1992), née Obermaier. The couple had five children.

Cramer was a trained businessman and worked as an authorized signatory in Brannenburg . He became a member of the NSDAP in 1928 and was awarded the NSDAP's golden party badge . The SA had joined it in 1928 and also went there in January 1942 to the SA Brigade Commander on. From March 19, 1937 he was mayor of Dachau .

After the beginning of the Second World War he was mayor of Leslau in German-occupied Poland from autumn 1939 , where Jews were forced to wear the Star of David in October 1939 . After the German occupation of the Baltic region, he was area commissioner in Kaunas- Stadt from July 1941 to 1944 , where he forbade Jews to use the sidewalk on July 28, 1941. As in Leslau, Cramer was also involved in the establishment of a ghetto in Kaunas (see Kauen concentration camp ) and the deportation of Jews.

At the end of the war he was an armored infantryman in the Wehrmacht and died on April 15, 1945 in combat operations in the Frankfurt an der Oder area.
