Harnischdorf cemetery

The place Harnischdorf was created in 1825 as a colony of the community Groß Oßnig. The settlement was founded by the merchant Friedrich Harnisch, after whom the place is named. According to the topographical-statistical overview of the administrative district of Frankfurt ad O. from 1844, there were 17 residential buildings in Harnischdorf that year, the place had 78 inhabitants at that time and was parish after Groß Oßnig. There were never any Sorbian-speaking residents in Harnischdorf.

Since Harnischdorf did not exist during the Congress of Vienna , the village had been part of the Kingdom of Prussia since it was founded . There the place belonged to the district of Cottbus in the administrative district of Frankfurt in the province of Brandenburg . After the end of the Second World War, the community of Groß Oßnig, to which Harnischdorf belonged, became part of the Soviet occupation zone and later the GDR . During the district reform on July 25, 1952, the village came to the Cottbus-Land district in the Cottbus district . After the fall of the Berlin Wall , the Cottbus-Land district was renamed the Cottbus district and finally dissolved. In the course of the Brandenburg district reform in 1993 , the community of Groß Oßnig and its districts became part of the Spree-Neisse district . On September 19, 2004, Groß Oßnig and its districts were incorporated into Neuhausen / Spree .
