The Hattah Kulkyne National Park is a national park in the northwest of the Australian state of Victoria , 417 km northwest of Melbourne and 60 km south of Mildura .
The park is located in the Murray-Mallee region, which is known for its red dust and semi-arid bush vegetation, especially consisting of eucalyptus . In the northeast, the park borders the Murray River . There are several lakes in the park; the largest of these is Lake Hattah . In the summer months, these lakes and their tributaries dry up completely.
There are over 200 species of birds in Hattah Kulkyne National Park. It is popular for hiking and school camping trips.
There are only a few streets and paths in the park, but a number of power lines and telephone lines run through it or pass nearby. In the area of these lines there was a lot of clearing.
