The Heathcote Greytown National Park (English Heathcote Greytown National Park) is a national park in the Australian state of Victoria , which is about 110 km north of Melbourne . The park was placed under protection in 1992 and has an area of ​​12,833 hectares.

General

The park encompasses the southern portion of the Rushworth-Heathcote State Forest and includes a significant portion of the largest ecological and culturally significant box-ironbark forest remaining. Characteristic tree species are the eucalyptus species Red Ironbark, Gray Box and Yellow Box.

So far, 17 endangered species have been identified in the park, such as the orchid species Caladenia concolor , the glycine species Glycine latrobeana , the mean flying squirrel bucket , the giant owl ( Ninox strictua ), the swallow parakeet and the snake species Bandy-Bandy ( vermicella annulat ).

You can also observe swamp wallabies , the yellow-footed pouch mice , bearded dragons , geckos and short-headed gliding pouches .
