The Coopracambra National Park is a national park in the far east of the Australian state of Victoria . It is located in the easternmost Gippsland on the Monaro Highway between Cann River (Victoria) and Rockton ( New South Wales ), 380 km east of Melbourne . The 35,000 hectare area was declared a national park in 1988. The Genoa Wilderness Area along the Genoa River became part of the national park. Directly to the north is the South East Forest National Park in New South Wales.
The Genoa River crosses both parks from north to southeast. In the Coopracambra National Park it flows through a gorge with red sandstone walls . On the border with New South Wales, the park is dominated by Mount Merragunegin , a granite peak . Near the Monaro Highway at Chandlers Creek on the west edge of the park are the Beehive Falls , waterfalls that are well worth seeing.
