history

The local area of Hausen is one of the oldest settlement areas in Upper Bavaria. Proof of this are two Neolithic finds in the Hausener local corridor and the burial mounds 1.5 km to the south near the former Mühlthal train station , which date from the Bronze Age . According to local tradition, the oldest farm on site is built on Roman foundations, for which, however, no archaeological evidence exists. The metric analysis of the cadastral map from 1809, carried out under the direction of Prof. Hans H. Schmidt, seems to support the tradition. The name of the settlement "Hausen" indicates the beginning of an expansion from a single farm to a village around the 8th century. A first documentary mention can be found in the ducal land register of the Wittelsbach family from 1231. The local church was originally located within the eter of the oldest court. The inauguration by the Augsburg bishop is reported in a Feldafing document from 1400 . In the following period the church was expanded with a choir altar (1671) and side altar (1688). In 1707 the beginning of the new building is reported. In 1718 it was equipped with two bells.

In the spring of 1815 the church burnt down partially and was completely destroyed in a village fire on November 9th of the same year. All buildings in the village, with the exception of the Messner House, also fell victim to the fire. A small chapel 1 km south in the forest was built in memory of the disaster. In 1822 the church was rebuilt with a lot of personal contribution from the people of Hausen and a total cost of 2,476 guilders . The patronage changed to the Holy Trinity .

When the municipality of Oberbrunn was incorporated into the municipality of Gauting in 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Hausen became a part of the municipality of Gauting.

economy

Three farms are still based in Hausen today, one of which specializes in seed production. The other two work mainly as horse boarding houses. A poultry farm and a deer enclosure serve as a supplementary sideline.

The local handicraft businesses include a carpentry, three joineries and a stonemason. A butcher sells meat products from its own slaughter. There is also an Internet toy shipping facility.

The Reiterverein Neuried-Gauting e. V. offers a riding school that is recognized by the German Equestrian Association .
