Hedwiges Eduard Martinus Maduro (born February 13, 1985 in Almere ) is a former Dutch football player . His mother is from Curacao and his father from Aruba , which is why he is also a citizen of the Netherlands Antilles .
Career
society
Maduro is a defensive midfielder who also acted as a sweeper at Ajax Amsterdam. Together with Steven Pienaar , Johnny Heitinga , Wesley Sneijder , Markus Rosenberg and Ryan Babel , he formed by far the youngest and most compact club team in recent years in the 2005/06 season. He won the Dutch Cup twice and the Dutch Super Cup three times during his time at Ajax .
In January 2008, Maduro moved to Valencia CF for around two million euros . There he signed a contract for four and a half years.
National team
Maduro already played for the age and performance classes U-19, U-20 and U-21 in Holland. On March 26, 2005 he made his debut for the Dutch national team . At the 2006 World Cup , he made a brief appearance in the insignificant last group game against Argentina , he was not nominated for the 2008 European Championship and the 2010 World Cup , but he was in the Dutch squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics . On August 11, 2010, after more than four years without an international match, he made his 13th appearance in the first team. After the World Cup, Bondscoach Bert van Marwijk gave the players who played in South Africa a break, and in the friendly match in Ukraine, alongside Maduro, other returnees such as Theo Janssen and Urby Emanuelson and seven debutants played.
