Heidi Ecks (* 1965 in Stade ) is a German actress .

Life

Heidi Ecks completed her classical acting training at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Hamburg from 1984 to 1988 . During her studies she worked a. a. with Robert Wilson at the Thalia Theater . She then had theater engagements at the Stadttheater Gießen (1988–1991, under the management of Jost Miehlbradt ), at the State Theater Mainz (1991–1996, under the management of Peter Brenner ), at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (1996–2003, under the management of Anna Badora ) and at the Schauspiel Leipzig (2003–2008, under the directorship of Wolfgang Engel ). Her roles in Leipzig included a. Portia in The Merchant of Venice (Director: Wolfgang Engel), Countess Terzky in Wallenstein (Director: Wolfgang Engel), Mother John in Die Ratten (Director: Karin Henkel ) and the Marquise de Merteuil in quartet by Heiner Müller .

In 2009 she appeared in Dangerous Liaisons at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in a production by Karin Henkel. She has been a permanent member of the Schauspiel Frankfurt ensemble since the 2009/10 season . She played there u. a. the title role in Mother Courage (Director: Robert Schuster ), the Warwara Petrowna in The Demons (Director: Sebastian Hartmann ), Frau Biedermann in Biedermann und die Brandstifter (Director: Robert Schuster), Vera in Dogville (Director: Karin Henkel), Kathrin in Be nice to Mr. Sloane by Joe Orton (premiere: season 2014/15, director: Jürgen Kruse ), the roles of Frau Kramer / Die Elbe in Outside Front Door (premiere: season 2013/14, director: Jürgen Kruse) and the governess in Leonce and Lena (premiere: 2015/16 season, director: Jürgen Kruse). She was also seen at the Schauspiel Frankfurt in the solo evening Der Hals der Giraffe by Judith Schalansky . In the 2015/16 season, Heidi Ecks took on the leading role in the premiere production of The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion at the Schauspiel Frankfurt .

Ecks also worked for the cinema and television. Here she was mostly cast in high profile supporting roles in which she often played representatives of the authorities (registrar, judge, public prosecutor). She had roles in the movies Kein Science Fiction (2003; as Anja's sister Barbara), Front Is Damn Far Away (2007; as Hannelore Griesmaier) and in the television film Der Fall Jakob von Metzler (2012; as presiding judge). In Tatort: ​​Order in the Lot (first broadcast: February 2012), she had a supporting role as neighbor Ms. Haberland. In the Taunus crime thriller Tief Wunden (2015) she was Renate Kohlhaas, the manager of a nursing home.

She had a recurring series role, alongside Paul Frielinghaus , as prosecutor Blum in the ZDF crime series Ein Fall für Zwei . She also had episode roles in the series Veterinarian Dr. Mertens (2009), SOKO Leipzig (2010; as branch director of the Bundesbank), Der Dicke (2012; Brigitte Weigand, convicted as an innocent murderer), SOKO Stuttgart (2014; as flower wholesaler Liliane Warner) and The Public Prosecutor (2018; as presiding judge Swan).
