Nave fresco
Chronogram

The frescoes and the painted stucco decoration were carried out by Vitus Felix Rigl . The painted stucco cartouche on the choir arch contains a chronogram with the year 1779.

The large ceiling fresco in the nave with the scene of the rehearsal of the cross by St. Helena , mother of Emperor Constantine the Great , bears the signature "Felix Rigl pinxit 1779" (Felix Rigl painted it in 1779). According to legend, St. Helena found the cross of Christ and was identified as the true cross by being raised from the dead when touched. The two smaller pictures depict the Archangel Michael and the battle of the Milvian Bridge . In this battle Constantine defeated his rival Maxentius under the sign of the cross .

The smaller cartouche pictures in tone-on-tone painting show scenes from the story of the prophet Moses such as the brazen serpent and Moses leading the Israelites through the Red Sea. The Last Supper is depicted on the choir fresco .
