Heinrich Maria Ledig Rowohlt Prize
The Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt Prize is a German literature prize for literary translators . It has been awarded annually by the Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt Foundation since 1992 and presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair . It is endowed with 15,000 euros. It is named in memory of Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt , one of the most successful publishers in the Federal Republic of Germany, who also worked as a translator himself.
"As part of my publishing work, I have always been particularly interested in translations and their problems, and since I have also transferred a lot myself, I fully appreciate your work."
The award goes to “outstanding achievements in the field of literary translation”. The jury determines the Hamburg foundation, which has also been established in 1992.
