Heinrich von Korff (government official)

Ernst Wilhelm Georg Heinrich Freiherr von Korff zu Waghorst (born September 13, 1792 at Gut Waghorst , today Rödinghausen -Bieren, Herford district ; † November 11, 1860 in Schönebeck  ?) Was a German government official.

From 1820 to 1849 he was district administrator of the Prussian district of Minden in Westphalia .

Life

Ernst Wilhelm Georg Heinrich Freiherr von Korff zu Waghorst was born in 1792 as the son of a family of the Westphalian nobility on the Waghorst estate. The von Korff family produced numerous government officials and owned manors in the districts of Minden, Lübbecke and Herford . Baron von Korff was canon of the former Halberstadt monastery . He studied law and cameralia at the University of Göttingen and was a forest trainee with the district government in Minden . In 1820 Korff was entrusted with the administration of the district office in the Minden district, he passed the aptitude test "according to regulations". On January 8, 1825, he was appointed district administrator . Korff held this office until his retirement on April 1, 1849. In addition, Korff was a member of the Order of St. John .

Baron Korff was a Roman Catholic, married and brother-in-law of Adolf von der Horst .
