Hippersdorf was formerly part of the Gaming Charterhouse , from the 17th century it was under the rule of Oberstinkenbrunn . A gender of the "Hippelsdorfer" (or "Hippleinsdorfer") whose name changed to "Hippersdorf" over time, although it is not known whether this gender had taken the name from the place or vice versa, can be proven over several centuries. An Otto called the Hippleinsdorfer appears in the Zwettler Annalen ( Annales Zwetlenses ) in 1290 , where he appears as a benefactor because of his donations to the Zwettl monastery . His grave is in front of the gate of the chapter house on which his coat of arms and name are engraved. A Wernhard von Hippleinsdorf and his wife Seburg are mentioned in a document dated October 13, 1295 as the seller of a “mill in Weikenstorf” to the nunnery in Tulln. A Ruger von Hippelsdorf (died 1313) is buried with the Minorites in Vienna. A Hans (= Johannes) Hippelsdorfer is named in 1383 as an official of the Passau Archdiocese and in 1390 as pastor and dean of the Church of St. Stephan am Wagram . Hippersdorf previously had market rights, although it is not known when it received the privilege of a market.

Archaeological finds

House mountain

The house mountain complex , which consists of four separate hills, has an area of approx. 250 m by 50 m. There is a northern and a southern area, both of which consist of a core plant (the two local mountains that are still visible today ) and the adjacent Vorwerk or economic plateaus. All other elements such as trenches etc. are no longer preserved due to recent settlement and road construction activities. Various archaeological investigations point to the use of the facility until the late Middle Ages.
