The Wymeer high moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Bunde in the district of Leer .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 142 is 52 hectares in size. The area has been a nature reserve since August 6, 1983. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Leer.
The protected area, which is south-east of Wymeer and west of the A 31 , protects the remainder of a raised bog with largely natural vegetation. Bog forests and bog heaths shape the landscape. In the nature reserve settle u. a. Sundew , cotton grass , common heather , blue whistle grass and nail bush . The area is the habitat of the forest lizard and adder .
In the moor area there is a moor nature trail, for which guided tours are offered. For safety reasons, the thatched observation platform built in 2000 and the boardwalks had to be removed because of the risk of slipping and breaking.
