The Fehntjer Tief-Nord is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon communities of Ihlow and Großefehn in the Aurich district and the Moormerland community in the Leer district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 201 is 450  hectares . Of this, 446 hectares are in the Aurich district and 4 hectares in the Leer district. The nature reserve is completely part of the FFH area "Fehntjer Tief und Umgebung" and the EU bird sanctuary "Fehntjer Tief". In the east, the nature reserve, which lies completely north of the Fehntjer Tief , borders on the nature reserves " Flumm-Niederung " and " Feuchtgebiet Westgroßefehn ", the western part borders on the nature reserve " Fehntjer Tief-Süd ". The area has been a nature reserve since July 7, 1990. Responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the districts of Aurich and Leer.

The area is characterized by grassland and wet meadows and is predominantly used extensively for agriculture. By placing it under protection, the lowland area, which is part of a preserved Hammrichs in north-west Lower Saxony, is to be preserved and endangered animal and plant species are to be used as a habitat.
