Hohenau an der Raab is a former municipality with 1,329 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in Styria . As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , it has been merged with the municipalities of Passail , Arzberg and Neudorf bei Passail since 2015 , the new municipality will continue to be called the market municipality of Passail. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.
geography
Hohenau an der Raab is located in the eastern part of the Passailer Basin of the Grazer Bergland in the Weiz district , Almenland region . The former municipal area extends from the Weizklamm in the east to Passail in the west and from the Sattelberge in the south to the Teichalm / Sommeralm alpine pasture area in the north. The highest point is the Siebenkögel at 1,409 m in the Almenland area.
The Raab river rises in the community at the foot of the Osser , but the summit is not in Hohenau. The brook leaves the community and flows to Passail .

The community consisted of the cadastral communities Haufenreith , Hohenau and Kramersdorf.
