Honkajoki [ ˈhɔŋkɑjɔki ] is a municipality in south- western Finland and in some places forms the northern border of the Satakunta landscape . The population is 1666 (as of December 31, 2018). The name Honkajoki translated from Finnish means something like pine river . Honkajoki is located around 70 km northeast of Pori and 110 km northwest of the city of Tampere . In terms of transport, the community is connected via national road 44. The area of the municipality is 333.07 km², of which 1.80 km² is water. The Kirchdorf the community is on the river Karvianjoki , of which the second part of the name originated the community.
Municipal coat of arms
The coat of arms of the municipality consists of a two-handled brown vat on a light blue background. There is a seven-pointed silver star above this wooden vessel. The tub stands for the traditional craft of the cooper , the star comes from the coat of arms of the Satakunta landscape.
