Merikarvia [ ˈmɛrikɑrviɑ ] ( Swedish : Sastmola ) is a Finnish community in the Satakunta countryside in western Finland . Merikarvia has an area of ​​444.4 square kilometers, of which 4.12 square kilometers is water.

The Merikarvia parish was founded in 1639 after separating from Pori and Ulvila . Parish government began in 1647 and parish government began in 1865.
