Hont is a Hungarian community in the county Balassagyarmat in Nógrád county . The district of Csitár belongs to the municipality.

Geographical location

Szomor is located about 23 kilometers west of the town of Balassagyarmat , 500 meters from the Ipoly River, which forms the border with Slovakia there . The neighboring municipality of Drégelypalánk is five kilometers east, across the Slovak border are the villages of Homok and Tešmák.
