Horst Kraehe

Friedrich Wilhelm Darius Hermann Max Horst Kraehe (born August 24, 1902 in Naumburg (Saale) , † October 10, 1988 in Hamburg ) was a German officer, most recently in the rank of Brigadier General of the Reserve of the Bundeswehr .

Reichswehr

Kraehe joined the 3rd (Prussian) Artillery Regiment of the Reichswehr in Potsdam in 1922 as an officer candidate . In 1923/24 he attended the infantry school in Ohrdruf and in 1924/25 the artillery school in Jüterbog. In 1925/26 he was a battery officer in the 3rd (Prussian) Artillery Regiment in Frankfurt (Oder). In 1926/27 he completed the officers' news course in Jüterbog. Then he was an intelligence officer in Schweidnitz and Küstrin . In 1930/31 he was again a battery officer in the 3rd (Prussian) Artillery Regiment in Potsdam. From 1931 to 1933 he was a rider at the cavalry school of the Reichswehr in Hanover. In 1933/34 he was an artillery officer and artillery leader in Frankfurt (Oder). From 1934 to 1936 he attended the general staff course at the War Academy in Berlin.

In 1959 he was appointed higher artillery commander 401 in Münster. From 1959 to 1962 he was then Corps Artillery Commander 1 in Münster. After the end of his service, he was promoted to brigadier general as a reserve officer .
