Horst Platen

Horst Aloysius Platen (born April 14, 1884 in Magdeburg , † October 14, 1964 in Feldafing , Bavaria ) was a German composer , conductor and theater director , as well as broadcasting director of NORAG's subsidiary station Hanover .

Life

Horst Platen received his training from Paul Gilson and César Thomson . From time to time he worked as a theater conductor, from 1914 to 1933 in Hamburg , there from 1926 also as the concert director of the Nordische Rundfunk AG (NORAG).

In 1933 he took over the broadcasting line of the NORAG secondary station in Hanover . From 1938 to 1942 he was director of the Fürth theater and from 1943 to 1945 a theater in Thorn .

After the war, the artist then moved to Munich . Here he was working as a radio play composer for Bavarian Radio .

Platen also used the pseudonym Hermann Hiller .
