It was ranked 375 of the 500 best songs of all time by the music magazine Rolling Stone .

Along with many other versions, there is a particularly successful version of Take That , which became a number one hit in many countries in 1996.

The original version of the Bee Gees

The love ballad How Deep Is Your Love was written by the Gibb brothers and recorded in the spring of 1977 at the Château d'Hérouville , Hérouville , France with producers Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardson , but initially only a demo recording , the actual recordings then took place in the Criteria Studios held in Miami . Barry Gibb worked out the keyboard melody with keyboardist Blue Weaver , who is not specified in the credits.

Music video

There are two different music videos for the piece. The first version shows the Gibb brothers singing with a picture of a woman. Barry Gibb has no beard in this version, but he does in the second version, in which the singing brothers can be seen in rays of rainbow-colored lights.

The version of Take That

In 1996, the British boy band Take That released a cover version, which was decoupled from their album Greatest Hits and achieved great success in many countries. So the piece became a number one hit in Great Britain. It also achieved platinum status there. In Germany this version reached number 7 in the charts.

Movie

The song that runs from the cassette in the Danish film "Adam's Apples" is "How Deep Is Your Love" in the version of Take That.

Music video

The music video with actress and model Paula Hamilton in the leading role shows how a blonde woman first holds the band members prisoner in the basement, then loads them into a van and drives them away. On a slope where the musicians are sitting, the actress finally pushes Gary Barlow down with a smile .
